Wow, time flies when the end of the year approaches!!! These final days are critical for your student and I hope they continue to power through to the end! Science Lab Notebooks will be due Friday June 7th. Students should be prepared to return texts Monday the last week of school. They must be returned in good repair (as they were new this year) or you will be charged for the text. Report cards will not be issued until all charges and fees are paid.
It is amazing how rapidly the year has passed and I hope you have enjoyed observing the physical, academic and spiritual growth of your child. I know that I have been blessed this year as God has allowed me to serve both He and your child. We have discussed and examined the wonders of His creation through the eyes of science and it is my hope that they will see that God and science are linked as He is the God of science and life. I know the world out there is hostile to this approach, but I believe that if you look deeply into creation you can do nothing but discover the Creator. If your student learned nothing but one thing this year, this is what I hope to pass on to them. God inhabits His creation and is made known through it. I hope that this has been evident through my teaching. I look forward to a wonderful finish of the year.

6th Grade
On Thursday, June 6th from 1:15 - 5:00 the 6th graders will be operating DSS12, a 34 meter radio telescope, collecting synchrotron emmissions of Jupiter's radio belt for JPL (Jet Propulsion Laboratories) and the scientists there. We will be operating the telescope from 1:15 - 4:15 and will have a pizza party to celebrate our successful run. The cost for the pizza will be $5.00 and students are to bring a 2 liter bottle of soda or juice to share. Parents are welcome, but because of the nature of the lab and the project, siblings may not be present. When finished, Cornerstone students will have callibrated the radio telescope, collected 2.3 ghz synchrotron radiowave emmissions from Jupiter via bore sights, and conduct their own data collection and calculations of the data. This data will join the rest of the data currently being collected by JPL in a 75 year study of the cycle of Jupiter. The students will blow away the scientists with the quality of data collected!!!

7th Grade
We are continuing to work on the human body and will be touching on the science of blood born pathogens and the facts behind them. During this time, we will be discussing the facts of HIV and AIDS, disease management and link them together with Biblical principles. The goal is to uncover the wonder of the created body of a human, while also enlightening them to the facts that lead to its demise. It is my hope, that while we talk, they will understand the importance of wise decisions as they press on through life. Lovingly and factually we will address the questions of the students from a Biblical perspective with honesty and sincerity. It is my hope that they will hear and understand the importace of Godliness and discipline in a world that so desperately needs to cling to these things.

8th Grade

(and with this, I have just plagerized myself).
