Welcome back. I hope that this webpage has been of help this year! I haven't heard much from you parents, and I'm not sure you are checking in regularly. Let me know if you are (bobarii@cox.net).
Well, its SAT week and there will be no homework and all work will be done in class. Report cards will be on their way home as well at the end of the week. As usual, I have specific comments for each student and I hope that these prove valuable as well. Thank you for your support!
6th Grade
We will continue learning about rocks...it can go on and on but won't as I will be talking about finishing the year with a project I'm involved with...a radio astronomy project. I hope your child is enjoying our excursion into rocks...yes, rocks are interesting and amazing when you think about how they are designed. Minerals, gems, elements are all wonderfully made and have an unique place in the cycle of life. Its quiet (unlike the music they listen to) and fascinating!
7th Grade
We will be having the final Catalina Island Marine Science Camp meeting Thursday at 6:30. I will be handing out health forms, permission slips and packing list. I need to solidify driving and set time parameters as well. Please come as it will be vital to the smooth success of the trip. All money should be paid by Monday the 15th. We need to submit our final check now.
Reptiles are alive in the Lab and as we study them, we will enjoy their presence (and even examine them up close). Just another fascinating group of God's creation. Science is great isn't it?
8th Grade
I asked for money and have yet to get it all. Please remit $20.50 for each ticket to Magic Mountain. I need to order tickets this week to get the discount. I also need to know if you would be willing to drive so I can plan transportation. We may need to shorten the trip (return earlier) if I cannot get enough drivers.
The simple machines were WONDERFUL! I wish to thank all parents who restrained themselves from helping. Accomplishements are best enjoyed when it eminates from the heart of the individual. There are times for teamwork, but the goal of this project was to find it within themselves.
