Welcome back to the Cornerstone Middle School Science Web page! I wish to thank you for the wonderful response to it and all the e-mails I have received. Keep stopping by for my regular updates as I enjoy the process an ease of communication this provides.

Report cards are on their way home so be on the watch. I have also graded all the Science Lab Notebooks and there is a piece of paper with grade and comment about their work. If it is lost and you would like a copy, please stop by and I can get it for you along with the complete break down of the components of their report card grade. We could then take a moment to discuss their successes and things that could be done to improve (remember, we could all use improvement!). The only day I will not be available after school is Thursday.

The 6th Grade weather project is due Wednesday and if you student is not working on it already, will have a difficult time finishing it (as part of it is to make predictions for the next day's weather in a place of interest and various areas of the United States). Remember, they should have 5 national or continental weather maps from consecutive days and answer the questions from worksheet 10c part three in their Science Lab Notebook. They are then to be affixed on a poster board. Neatness, care and completeness are the constraints for grades of excellence. Go for it!

The test has been moved to Thursday so please make note of it.

The 7th Grade leaf projects were wonderful. I am amazed at the growth I have seen in every student. I also enjoyed the humor on a few of the projects. We have many creative, cleaver students and I appreciate their unique gifts and talents as they express themselves through their projects. We will continue learning about plants including function and environmental responses.

The test has been moved to Thursday so please make note of it.

8th grade has been learning about solutions. We saturated a solvent, supersaturated it and will examine it on Monday. They will continue to learn about solubility, concentration and molecular structures of solutions. And this is 8th grade? Yes and they are doing an amazing job understanding this challenging topic!

There will be a test on Thursday.
