Welcome to the new Cornerstone Middle School Science Web Page!!!
It is my hope that you will use this to check up on projects, homework and events in the middle school science program. This is a new attempt at parent communication and I believe it can be a silent communicator between you and I about current work and expectations in my classroom. Feel free to tell me if this service is of value to you so that I will continue to put effort into regular updates.
All grade levels have turned in their Science Lab Notebooks to be graded for the semester. Be looking for my comments and grades for your student's work ( it will be a slip of paper with comments and grade). Semester grades will be arriving home this week. If you feel a conference is in order, please feel free to contact me at school, or via e-mail at bobarii@home.com.
Sixth Grade is to collect five national weather maps from the same source (like the newspaper) for five days in a row and then comment about the movement that happens over the five days and why (using the book as a reference and class conversations). Due February 6th. The project and a small quiz will be the assesment for Chaper 10.
Seventh Grade has a leaf collection project due this Friday, February 1. They are to collect as many samples of palmate, pinnate and parallel leaves as possible, noting either the name of plant or tree and date collected, or location of plant or tree and date collected. They should be placed together in categories on a poster board or presentation board. Neatness, variety, organization and number of leaves will be the determining factor in grades. Do your best!
